ACCESS STATEMENT

Full fire certificate held at the Knole

INTRODUCTION: We aim to cater for the needs of all visitors in our home with 3 bedrooms Bed & Breakfast – not ideally to those travelling without a car. Our Victorian house is over 150 years old, which might make access difficult for people with limited mobility. If you have any specific question please feel free to call us.

There is a bus stop at Okehampton, 6 miles away.
Nearest railway station, Exeter, which is approx 29 miles away.
There are local taxi companies at Okehampton, 6 miles, also a small hospital.

PRE-ARRIVAL: On approach to The Knole you will enter the hard-core drive lined with an avenue of beech trees leading up to the front of the Victorian farmhouse. Where you can unload your luggage – assistance with luggage is offered. Your car can be parked on the parking bay consisting of gravel, which is approx 25 yards from the front door. Security lighting.

MAIN ENTRANCE & RECEPTION: Please ring the front door bell, which is placed on the right hand side of the entrance. One granite step then followed by a small hallway then a second granite step, this will lead you into the main hall. Hallway leads to the staircase of 13 steps 2ft 6in width. Guests are taken to their room and facilities are explained. A night light on the landing is there for your safety.

GUEST AREAS: Dining room & lounge wall to wall carpet. Conservatory has non slip tiles.

BEDROOMS: All bedrooms are on the first floor, with lockable doors. Televisions all have remote controls. All rooms are fully carpeted and en-suite rooms are all none slip vinyl.

GARDEN: Lawned and flower beds with wood seating.
